  ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!
It's a busy 2010 ahead for the members of the MPYO. This upcoming season features seminal classic symphonic repertoire, contemporary and film music in celebration of this vibrant orchestra's fifth birthday.

Jazz great Randy Brecker joins the MPYO together with members of the BOSTONIAN FRIENDS and members of the Encounter Jazz Programme in June, performing a world premiere from the Swiss jazz musician and composer, Fritz Renold; together with 2 master works from Duke Ellington.

In March the MPYO begins the 2010 season with Dvorak's, Symphony No.9 and film music from Tan Dun - featuring MPO Cellists Csaba Koros - and Erich Korngold and in September soloists from within the MPYO perform concertos from Vivaldi in an iConcert that also includes Respighi's mammoth Pines of Rome.

In December the MPYO tours Peninsula Malaysia playing Mahler's Symphony No.1 and Bernstein's, Symphonic Dances from 'West Side Story'. The concert will begin with a world premiere from Malaysian composer, Chow Junyi, that will include variations from fragments of music originally composed by members of the MPYO.

National auditions are being held throughout the year in music centres in Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Johor Bharu, Kuala Lumpur and Penang the details of which can be found closer to date.

Also look out for an exhibition in the lobby of the Dewan Filharmoic PETRONAS in KLCC that start March 17th, a collection or stunning archive photos from the past 5 years. For further information on MPYO; auditions, concerts and how to become a Friend of MPYO please call 603 2051 5673/3243
