Weekend rehearsal schedule & Seating layout: 14 & 15
October 2006
The updated rehearsal
schedule and seating
order are enclosed.
Attendance
Attendance by all members is critical to the success of the orchestra
so that high levels of performance can be achieved as the season progresses.
- Absence is permitted only in cases of illness, emergency or special
circumstances which must be pre-arranged with the administrator.
- If there is a schedule conflict, the administrator must be notified
by the members in writing at least three weeks in advance so that arrangements
can be worked out with the conductor.
- A cumulative total of 4 absences at any point in
the season (12 months) is cause for termination of membership.
- Unexcused late arrivals / early departures will be considered
as absences.
- Anticipated late arrivals / early departures should be reported
to the administrator well in advance.
Refreshments
There will normally be short breaks midway through the rehearsals.
As you are not allowed to leave the premises of Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS
during breaks, you are advised to bring your own food and beverage.
You can have your refreshments at the hall foyer.
Members may leave the premises during the evening break at 6.30pm on 14
Oct. However, they are expected to return to their seats at least
10 minutes prior to the rehearsal which starts at 7.45pm.
Attire
Rehearsals: Smart casual (jeans, T-shirts, sneakers are acceptable).
No shorts and slippers. Please wear something warm as all
rehearsal venues are air-conditioned.
Security Pass
Security passes which have been issued to all members must be brought
along to rehearsals in order to gain access to rehearsal venues at Dewan
Filharmonik PETRONAS. The pass is to be used exclusively by MPYO members
only. Members will be charged a fine for lost or unreturned passes.
Music Black music folders containing original parts
will be placed on your respective stands at rehearsals. You are expected
to take the original parts home but leave the black folders on the stands.
Please write down your name and the title of the pieces you are taking
home on the sign-out sheet that can be found inside the folder.
Violin players: Those seated on the right side of the stand may
take the original parts.
Viola, Cello & Bass players: Those seated on the left side
of the stand may take the original parts.
All sheet music is the property of MPYO. Due to the excessive amount of
time and effort it takes to prepare every part, it is your responsibility
to care for it by:
- Keeping it protected when not in use.
- Marking notations lightly only with pencil.
- Having all parts ready to turn in at the request of the administrator.
Members will be charged for lost or damaged music.
Media Publication MPYO may publish photographs
and video/audio recordings of the orchestra for publicity purposes. We
will assume permission for the member to be in these types of media publications
unless otherwise notified in writing by the member.
